1. Selection of Board President and Vice Presidents

At 10am the Board will determine which of its members will serve as President, Vice President, and Second Vice President for calendar year 2013.

President – Supervisor Judy Arnold (District 5)

Vice-President – Supervisor Kathrin Sears (District 3)

Second Vice- President – Supervisor Katie Rice (District 2)

2. Employee of the Month

Preview

The Board will honor Jesus Ordaz with the employee of the month award. Jesus serves as a Collections Officer in the Department of Child Support Services.

3. West Marin Garbage Rate Increase

Preview

The Board will conduct a public hearing in order to consider a 3.25% rate increase for the West Marin Franchise Area Number 1, which includes the West Marin coast area, excluding Bolinas and Stinson Beach. The rate increase is being requested by the Redwood Empire Disposal company for a number of reasons, with a 7.95% increase in the cost of fuel being a primary factor

4. Energy Watch Program

Preview

The Board will consider executing an agreement with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company in order accept $2.1 million in funds towards the Marin Energy Watch Partnership.  This program is designed to provide energy efficiency services and incentives to residents, businesses, and public agencies throughout Marin County.

5. Special Election to Consolidate Sanitary Districts

Preview

The Board will consider calling a special mail ballot election for May 7, 2013 that will ask voters to consider authorizing the consolidation of the Alto, Almonte, Homestead Valley, and Richardson Bay Sanitary Districts into a unified new district that would be known as the Southern Marin Sanitary District.
