At the request of Supervisor Kinsey, the Board will consider a resolution proclaiming May 2013 as CalFresh Awareness Month and hear a presentation from the Marin Food Policy Council on public outreach efforts for the CalFresh program. Otherwise known as the national Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the state CalFresh program helps put nutritious food on the table by issuing monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy food at retail outlets.
