1. National Caregiver Month

2. Resolution for Mona Miyasato

Preview

The Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution commending Chief Assistant County Administrator Mona Miyasato for her service to Marin County upon her recent selection as Santa Barbara County Executive Officer. Miyasato, who worked five years as No. 2 in the County Administrator's Office, starts her new job in December.

3. Community Service Allocations

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator to approve Community Service Fund allocations for the period of July 1 through Sept. 15. There are 42 allocations worth $121,708. If approved, $166,692 would be available for the two remaining cycles in the fiscal year.

4. Fair Housing Laws

Preview

The Board will hear the first reading of an ordinance providing a procedure for reasonable accommodation in the County’s land use, zoning and building regulations pursuant to Fair Housing Laws. The Board plans to ask the clerk to schedule a merit hearing for 10:30 a.m. Dec. 3.

5. Building Codes

Preview

The Board will hear the first reading of an ordinance amending Title 19 of the Marin County Code regarding building codes, as required every three years. Passage of the proposed ordinance would prevent a discrepancy between the effective date of the State Code and the effective date of local amendments, thereby preventing a window wherein local amendments are legally unenforceable.

6. Appropriation of Tax Proceeds

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Finance to adopt a resolution determining the fiscal year 2013-14 appropriations of tax proceeds pertaining to the County of Marin and special districts under the Board of Supervisors in accordance with Article XIII-B of the State Constitution (Proposition 4 Gann Initiative). The aggregate tax proceeds for the County and the special districts governed by the board is $277,857,438 and the proceeds subjected to the limit are $176,057,244.

7. Bay Area Water Trail Trailheads

Preview

The Board will hear a request from County Parks to adopt a resolution endorsing the designation of McNears Beach Park, Black Point Boat Launch and Paradise Beach Park as San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail trailheads and approve participation in the San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail Grant Program.

8. Fire Codes

Preview

The Board will conduct a hearing on an ordinance adopting the 2012 International Fire Code, portions of the 2012 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code and 2013 California Fire Code with amendments.
