Highlights of the February 04, 2014 Board Meeting:
The Board will start its meeting with a song as part of its Monthly Musical Welcome series. Once a month, a musician or group will present an acoustic song to help set a positive and welcoming tone for its meetings. An a capella quartet from SingersMarin is this month's invitee.

The Board will hear an informational report from the Marin County Free Library Director Sara Jones regarding Measure A Library funds. Staff recommends that the Board accept the report and consider a recommendation for a June ballot measure to renew the existing parcel tax.

The Board will conduct a hearing to consider of a resolution increasing vehicle registration fees collected per county vehicle to $2, up from $1, in support of countywide auto theft prevention, investigation and prosecution efforts.

The Board will conduct a hearing to consider an uncodified ordinance imposing a temporary moratorium on the installation of SmartMeters and related equipment.

The Board conducted the hearing and approved the uncodified ordinance. The County Administrator agreed to provide more information to the public on the County website about the subject and acknowledge that the California Public Utilities Commission ordered PG&E to allow for voluntary opt-outs of SmartMeter installations at a cost to the customer.
