The Board will conduct an election of its president, vice president and second vice president. Judy Arnold of District 5 has served as board president since January 2013. Kate Sears of District 2, who has served on the board since May 2011, is in the traditional rotation to become president for the first time in her supervisorial career.

The Board voted 4-0-1 (Supervisor Adams absent) in favor of Kate Sears as President, Katie Rice as Vice President and Susan Adams as Second Vice President. The Board will hear a request to send a letter to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) regarding proposals to manage transportation and visitor access to Muir Woods National Monument. The Supervisors will consider a letter that urges GGNRA to reduce impacts on southern Marin residents and businesses, primarily experienced as congestion on local roads.

The Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution authorizing the County's membership in a new consortium to advance broadband infrastructure to underserved areas and authorize submission of a grant application for the consortium. The North Bay-North Coast Broadband Connect would involve Marin, Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties.

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Public Works to award a contract for the Central Marin Ferry Connection Multiuse Pathway Project and approve related actions. Ghilotti Bros. Construction was the low bidder at $9.4 million, but County attorneys determined there was a licensing problem with a subcontractor. Public Works staff advises the Board to award the contract to meet a Jan. 13 deadline.
