The Board will conduct a hearing about an ordinance amending select sections of the Marin County Code Chapter 7.24 to update definitions and authorize posting of color-coded placards in food establishments related to inspection compliance ratings. On June 3, the Board heard the first reading of the ordinance that would allow Environmental Health Services to implement the “Go for Green” Placard Program, a key initiative in the agency’s 2014-16 Performance Plan that would improve food handling practices and protect food and public safety. County staff recommends adoption of the ordinance.
