1. Wildfire Awareness Month

Preview

The Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution proclaiming May 4-10 as Wildfire Awareness Week. Residents will be asked to exercise fire-safe behavior at all times and to alert emergency personnel anytime they see fire or smoke in open space areas. The Ready, Set, Go wildfire action plan, at www.readysetgomarin.org, will be promoted as an excellent source of information.

2. Public Health International Outreach

The Board will hear a request for a presentation by Public Health Program Manager Kathy Koblick on her public health work in villages in rural Nepal.

3. Plan for Aging

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Aging and Adult Services to approve the Marin County Area Plan for Aging fiscal year 2014-2015 update. This is the second update of the current plan and presents services strategies that will be undertaken by the Area Agency on Aging and its advisory council, the Commission on Aging, to address the needs of older adults, family caregivers, and people with disabilities in Marin County.

4. Community Development Block Grants for Housing

Preview

The Board will conduct a hearing related to housing and community development needs and performance, Federal Fiscal Year 2014 Amendments to the Consolidated Plan. The discussion will include mentions of budgets for the Community Development Block Grant Program, the HOME Investment Partnerships Program and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program. In the second, third, fourth, and fifth years, the Consolidated Plan must be amended with an action plan to add each year's CDBG and HOME project budgets. On July 1, 2014, the County will begin the fifth year covered by the Consolidated Plan, so an annual amendment is required.
