1. Preventing Intimate Partner Violence

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Health and Human Services to receive a report regarding intimate partner violence prevention and request to endorse the Framework for Preventing Intimate Partner Violence in Marin.

2. Flood Preparedness Week

Preview

The Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution proclaiming October 20-25 as California Flood Preparedness Week.

Review

The Board heard a report from Department of Public Works associate civil engineer Hannah Lee and adopted the resolution.

3. Employee Job Classifications

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator to approve cost-neutral classification actions resulting from office reorganization.

4. County Administrator's Office Staff Reorganization

Preview

The Board will hear the first reading of an ordinance amending County Personnel Management Regulation (PMR) Section 1.2, adding the position of Assistant County Administrator and deleting the position of Chief Assistant County Administrator. Staff recommends the scheduling of a merit hearing for 10:30 a.m. October 28.

5. Civil Grand Jury Response on Sewer Systems

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator for Board concurrence and adoption of the response to the 2013-2014 Grand Jury Report titled "The Scoop on Marin County Sewer Systems: Part I & Part II" from June 16, 2014.

The Board concurred and adopted the response.

6. Tax Proceed Appropriations

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Finance to adopt a resolution determining the fiscal year 2014-15 appropriations of tax proceeds pertaining to the County of Marin in accordance with Article XIII-B of the State Constitution, Proposition 4 Gann Initiative. The item corresponds with item 13d on the Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District agenda.

7. Appointments

Preview

The Board will consider two vacancies on the Assessment Appeals Boards 1 and 2, one vacancy on the Bolinas Fire Protection District Board of Directors, one vacancy on the Parks and Open Space Commission, and four vacancies on the Youth Commission.

Bolinas Fire Protection District Board of Directors: Judith Shaw

8. Hotel Development Plan

Preview

The Board will conduct a hearing on the consideration of an application for right-of-way vacation at the Whaler’s Point property, 240 Redwood Highway, unincorporated Mill Valley. Jack Krystal applied for a vacation of portions of Parepa, Pohono and Bolinas street right-of-ways. County staff is recommending denial of the application.

The Board denied the application.
