The Board will present the Employee of the Month Award for May 2015 to Sandra Mancilla of the Probation Department.
Board President Katie Rice said the following:
Sandra Mancilla, an employee since March 2013, is assigned to the Juvenile Drug Court Team, which is a collaborative program of support for youth who have entered the juvenile justice system. She supervises youth enrolled in Juvenile Drug Court to ensure their compliance with conditions of probation. She manages individualized “case plans” designed to help youth and families become successful and healthy, working with service providers and facilitating weekly team meetings. Sandra arranges and participates in activities to provide the youth opportunities to experience alternatives to a lifestyle of delinquency and substance abuse.
Sandra has the rare ability to adeptly manage both an administrative role and a direct service role. In each role, she demonstrates compassion, energy and enthusiasm. She also projects a quiet confidence and competence that is infectious to both youth and colleagues. Sandra is often the first to volunteer for an assignment or to participate in a division workgroup to improve services. Her work epitomizes the best qualities and characteristics of a County of Marin employee.
Sandra deeply cares about what she does, strives for excellence, and puts in a level and quality of effort that assures it. Congratulations, Sandra, on being chosen Employee of the Month.
