The Board will receive an update from the Department of Public Works on El Niño winter storm preparations and a request to adopt a resolution proclaiming October 19-24 as California Flood Preparedness Week. The California Department of Water Resources has worked to unite agencies to educate the public about flood risk with a goal of improving safety. The Marin County Flood Control & Water Conservation District has been working with the Marin County Office of Emergency Services to hold a free Flood Preparedness Week Fair on October 24 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Marin Exhibition Hall, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael.
The Board received the update from representatives from the Marin County Flood Control & Water Conservation District and the Marin County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services and adopted the resolution.
