Body-Worn Cameras for Sheriff's Deputies

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 5/10/2016

The Board will hear a request from the Sheriff to approve a sole-source agreement with Taser International, Inc., for the purchase of 100 body-worn cameras and related services. One way to enhance public trust is to ensure transparency and accountability in law enforcement operations, something that is today aided by the integration of body-worn cameras in the patrol environment. The Sheriff's Office has negotiated a five-year agreement with Taser International to supply 100 cameras and the related charging/data transfer hardware. The first-year cost is estimated at $205,807.

The Board approved the agreement with Taser International.
