Update on ATOM Project

The Board will hear a request to receive a status report on the Administrative Technologies of Marin (ATOM) Project implementation. The Board has approved more than $14 million for a new software system to support the County’s administrative functions of business operations, including budgeting, accounting, purchasing, payroll and human resources management. In December 2014, after more than four years of research and due diligence, the County entered into a contract with Tyler Technologies to implement a new finance, payroll and human resources system. The implementation team rolled out the finance phase of the project in July 2016 and addressed anticipated challenges in the weeks thereafter. In January 2017, the Human Resources and Payroll phase of the project will kick off with a projected go-live date of July 2017. When ATOM fully implemented, the County expects to enhance its business processes and save money in the long run.
