The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator to authorize the allocation of $8.3 million in one-time excess Educational Revenue Augmentation Fund (ERAF) revenues, resulting from the completion of a property tax computation audit, to be designated for road infrastructure improvements, storm damage and facility reserves, and state and federal uncertainty reserves. The County has a longstanding fiscal policy of directing one-time revenues to one-time expenditures. The County has identified the need to invest in road and facility infrastructure to address deferred maintenance backlogs. Also, the County sustained more than $8 million in damage from winter storms. It is unlikely that the County will be fully reimbursed from the state and federal government for all costs associated with the storms.
The Board authorized the allocation of the one-time funds.
