1. Sea Level Rise Adaptation Report

Preview

At 9 a.m., the Board will hold an informational workshop in Suite 324A regarding Collaboration Sea Level Marin Adaptation Response Team (C-SMART) to review the Marin Ocean Coast Sea Level Rise Adaptation Report. The review includes sections on asset adaptation, community scale vulnerabilities, and potential next steps. Note that the meeting will take place down the hallway from the Board chamber. There is very limited seating for the public, so arrive early.

The board accepted the report.

2. Civil Grand Jury Response: Retirement Health Care Benefits

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator for Board for concurrence and adoption of response to 2016-2017 Civil Grand Jury report titled "Marin’s Retirement Health Care Benefits – The Money Still Isn’t There” (May 10, 2017). The County agreed with the Civil Grand Jury on four findings and disagreed wholly or partly with three findings. Seven recommendations have been implemented, one more is planned to be implemented, and one will not be implemented. Staff recommends that the Board concur in and thereby adopt a response and direct the Board President to submit the response to the presiding judge.

The Board adopted the response.

3. Civil Grand Jury Response: Budget and Pensions

Preview

The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator for Board for concurrence and adoption of response to 2016-2017 Civil Grand Jury report titled "The Budget Squeeze – How Will Marin Fund Its Public Employee Pensions” (May 25, 2017). The County agreed with the Civil Grand Jury on six findings and disagreed wholly or partly with four findings. Two recommendations have been implemented and two will not be implemented. Staff recommends that the Board concur in and thereby adopt a response and direct the Board President to submit the response to the presiding judge.

The board adopted the response.

4. Appointments to Advisory Boards and Commissions

Preview

The Board will consider one opening on the Golden Gate Bridge District Board of Directors, one on the Human Rights Commission and one on the Women's Commission.

5. Preserving Housing Affordability, Preventing Displacement

No earlier than 5:30 p.m., the Board will receive an informational update from Community Development Agency staff on the work plan to preserve housing affordability and prevent housing displacement.
