Planning and Zoning Amendments for Inverness Property

No earlier than 1:30 p.m., the Board will conduct a hearing about the Moonrise Kingdom property Countywide Plan Amendment, Local Coastal Program Amendment and Rezoning, 1025 and 1055 Vision Road, Inverness. On June 12, the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the Board rezone the property from C-A-2 (Coastal, Agricultural, Limited, 2-acre minimum lot size) to C-RSP-0.1 (Coastal Residential, Single-Family, Planned, 1 unit per 10 acres). The property had been mislabled by the Planning Division staff more than 35 years ago. The Planning Division staff recommends that the Board amend the Local Coastal Plan to show the C-RSP-0.1 zoning on the zoning map. Staff also recommends that the Board deny an appeal of the Planning Commission decision by the Inverness Association.


The Board conducted the hearing and approved the rezoning of the Moonrise Kingdom property to the C-RSP-0.1 designation, along with the necessary amendments to the Countywide Plan and Local Coastal Program. The Board also approved rehabilitating the hand-built structures on the property, but denied the applicant’s proposed residence.
