No earlier than 10:30 a.m., the Board will hear a request from the Department of Human Resources to approve a final reduction in force related to the Dental Clinic closure. On September 12, the Board unanimously approved the recommendation by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to close County-operated dental and specialty health clinics. HHS has since worked with Marin Community Clinics to ensure an effective transition of care of all County patients, and at this time HHS is prepared to transition its dental patients and close the clinic on November 10. Seventeen positions are to be deleted but the County anticipates only four to eight layoffs.
The Board approved the reduction in force.
