At 9 a.m., the Board will present the Employee of the Year award for 2017 to Diane Patterson of the Clerk of the Board staff.
Supervisor Rice read the following:
Diane, who has served the County since 1994, was one of 12 employees recognized as Employee of the Month over the past year for excellence in service to the public. Employees are nominated for demonstrating a consistent level of excellence, commitment and willingness to go the extra mile. Diane overwhelmingly exemplifies these qualities and has undoubtedly earned this acclaim.
Diane retains a wealth of institutional knowledge in all matters related to official County business of the Board of Supervisors. As a champion of transparency, Diane is driven to make all information available to everyone – with integrity, kindness, professionalism and innovation. She oversees the voluminous process to accurately schedule, post, document and archive the public records for every Board of Supervisors meeting, working closely with the Board President and County Administrator’s Office. She also supervises the essential collection of historic Board records and documents.
She inspires the best from her staff to meticulously and seamlessly accomplish the many components of this office, and is highly regarded by her team and peers at the County and at the state level. She has held leadership positions within her professional associations such as the California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors' Association and the California Association of Clerks and Election Officials.
Her dedication and commitment to a high standard of excellence in serving the County of Marin is admirable. Congratulations, Diane, on receiving the honor of Employee of the Year.
