The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator, in collaboration with Human Resources and the Community Development Agency, to continue the RideGreen program, which encourages County employee use of alternate forms of transportation. The two-year-old program has been an effective tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from County employees driving alone. It promoted transit ridership, encouraged carpooling, and employee wellness through biking or walking to work or from transit stations. More than 200 employees have shifted away from driving alone to and from work. Funding is already allocated for recommended changes to the program.
The Board approved the continuation of the RideGreen program.
