The Board will hear an update from the Community Development Agency (CDA) on the Board’s workplan to preserve housing affordability and prevent displacement. The Board approved a workplan in February 2016. The update will include progress reports on the acquisition of multifamily rental properties for preservation as affordable units, landlord incentives, renter source-of-income protections, short-term rental regulations, and several other initiatives. Since approving the original workplan, the Board introduced a rental housing dispute resolution ordinance, reduced barriers to the creation of accessory dwelling units, and added a program to enhance County inspections of multifamily rental properties. In the coming year, CDA staff will continue to administer the existing programs.
The Board heard the update and received the report about the workplan.
