On March 10, Elections Office to conduct 1 percent manual tally of March 3 vote
San Rafael, CA – March 3 is Election Day in Stinson Beach, and the public will get a chance to participate in a required manual tally of the vote one week later in the Marin County Elections Office.
Pursuant to California Elections Code §15360, the Election Officer – in this case, Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts – will conduct a public manual tally of a random 1 percent from the precincts. The tally is to take place at 10 a.m. in the Elections Office, Room 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
In the special election, voters in the Stinson Beach’s Flood Control District Zone 5 will determine if a special tax should be levied to provide funding for a $5.7 million project to address flooding issues, natural creek functions and habitat enhancement. Residents within the zone would be taxed $250 annually over 20 years for improved parcels and $50 annual for unimproved parcels.
In February, Elections officials conducted a public logic and accuracy test of the vote-counting program and ballots for the Stinson Beach election.
