Openings on Marin County Planning Commission

At-large and District 4 representatives sought

San Rafael, CA – The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, January 27, to apply for an at-large or District 4 seat on the Marin County Planning Commission.

At-large applicants can reside anywhere in Marin County, and those for the District 4 seat must reside within that district (West Marin, western Novato, San Geronimo, San Rafael’s Canal neighborhood, southern San Rafael, Corte Madera, and Homestead Valley).

Appointed by the Marin County Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on all countywide and community plan elements and amendments, master plans, and rezonings.  The commission has final authority, pending appeal to the Board of Supervisors, on subdivisions, design reviews, use permits, and other planning decisions appealed from planning staff actions. The commission also hears appeals of the findings of the Deputy Zoning Administrator and actions of the County's planning staff.
