San Rafael, CA – There are four term expirations coming up on the Measure A (Parks) Community Oversight Committee. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018.
Marin voters approved the Marin Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance (Marin County Ordinance 3586) in November 2012. The volunteer committee reviews annual expenditures to ensure conformity with the Ordinance 3586 Expenditure Plan, and assists staff in overseeing an annual audit and preparation of an annual report that describes how funds were spent.
Applicants shall possess working knowledge in subject areas and disciplines beneficial to the work of the committee, such as financial management and reporting, public agency administration, and the provision of public park and open space services. All committee members must be Marin County residents who are neither elected officials of any government body nor employees from agencies or organizations that either oversee or benefit from the tax receipts of Measure A.
