Expertise needed on Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation group
San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Parks Measure A Community Oversight Committee is seeking a volunteer who is knowledgeable about agricultural conservation easements as a method of farmland preservation. The application deadline is 5 p.m. January 11, 2019.
Marin voters approved the Marin Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance (Marin County Ordinance 3586) on November 6, 2012. The ordinance, which appeared as Measure “A” on the ballot, generates additional revenues for the purpose described in the ordinance’s expenditure plan.
The committee reviews expenditures of Measure A funds on an annual basis to ensure they conform with the expenditure plan. The committee also oversees an annual audit and prepares an annual report describing how funds were spent.
All committee members must be Marin County residents who are neither elected officials of any government body nor employees from agencies or organizations that either oversee or benefit from the tax receipts of Measure A.
