Elections staff needs assistance! Serve your community on Election Day, June 5
San Rafael, CA – Voting at a polling place has been the long-standing preference for many voters, but operating a polling place requires people willing to serve their community on Election Day. Marin County could use a few more of them.
“We are still a little short for June 5,” she said. “It’s OK if you’ve never been a poll worker before. We teach you everything you need to know, and you’ll be working as part of a team.”
Poll workers assist voters by collecting signatures in the roster, distributing ballots, directing voters to booths, and monitoring supplies. Polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, and poll workers typically work from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and earn a stipend.
Poll workers must be registered voters in California or lawful permanent residents aged 18 and over. The Elections Department provides training the week prior to Election Day.
Opportunities are available across Marin, with a particular need in Southern Marin. To apply, visit www.marinvotes.org, call the precinct coordinator at 415-473-6439, or stop by the Elections Department in Suite 121 of the Marin Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
