Human Rights Commission to honor 3 adults, 2 high school students from Marin
San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Human Rights Commission is accepting nominations through December 1 for the 38th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Awards.
Adult award winners receive a $1,000 stipend given to a nonprofit agency of their choice. Youth winners receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used for post-secondary education. Funding for the scholarships and stipends is generously provided by the Marin Community Foundation.
Individuals, schools and community organizations are invited to complete and return nomination forms. The nominees must be strong advocates for human rights in Marin and live, work, or attend school in the county.
The awards will be distributed at a ceremony at McInnis Park Golf Center Restaurant on February 6, 2020, with a reception to follow.
